National Association of Community Health Centers Appoints Lance Evans to National Advisory Group

Oklahoma City, OKVariety Care is proud to announce the appointment of Lance Evans, director of communications, to the Health Center Workforce Diversity Data & Metrics National Advisory Group. The group is convened by the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) in collaboration with The George Washington University Fitzhugh Mullan Institute for Health Workforce Equity.

The national advisory group is comprised of 25 professionals from Community Health Centers, Health Center Controlled Networks, and Primary Care Agencies with expertise and experience related to developing a workforce that reflects the populations they serve.

“Last year, Variety Care established a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Council to affirm our mission of making quality health affordable and accessible for all people,” CEO Lou Carmichael said. “Lance’s prolific career in advocacy and journalism makes him a perfect fit for this national advisory group.”

Evans serves as Variety Care’s director of communications. He also leads the organization’s DEI Council. The council supports Variety Care’s 600-member workforce by creating a welcoming and collaborative environment across the nonprofit’s 18 community health centers.

“Variety Care’s core value of inclusion continues to be deeply woven into our diverse company culture,” Lance said. “I am honored to serve alongside trailblazers from across the nation who are making incredible strides in helping marginalized and underserved communities find access to quality health care. I hope to learn new strategies and best practices in building a diverse workforce that is truly reflective of all people.”

Established in 1971, the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) serves as the national voice for America’s Health Centers and as an advocate for health care access for the medically underserved and uninsured.
