Variety Care Names Chief Medical Officer

Oklahoma City, OK – Variety Care announced Jason Graham, D.O., FAAP, has been named its Chief Medical Officer

(CMO). A physician with more than 20 years of experience, Dr. Graham began his career with Variety Care in 2016 as a pediatrician and rose to the position of director of pediatrics by 2020.

“Dr. Graham is a distinguished physician,” said Lou Carmichael, president and CEO of Variety Care. “His experience as medical director of pediatric medicine and his leadership in practice transformation will be invaluable in our organization’s move to value-based care.”

In the CMO role, Dr. Graham will provide clinical leadership, foster superior, quality patient care, and develop clinical strategic goals. In addition to managing pediatric provider staff, Dr. Graham has led strategy around organizational processes and workflows throughout his tenure at Variety Care.

In October 2023 due to the growth and expansion of the organization, the organizational structure of Variety Care was expanded and restructured, and Lydia Nightingale, M.D., was named the Vice President of Medical Affairs after serving in the CMO role since 2019.

“Dr. Graham’s experience and dedication align with the values of Variety Care,” said Lydia Nightingale, M.D., Vice President of Medical Affairs for Variety Care.

“I’m confident under his leadership Variety Care will retain and attract the best and brightest talent, and the organization’s service lines will increase efficiency and access.”

A member of the American Academy of Pediatrics since 2004, Dr. Graham graduated from the Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his pediatric residency at the University of Oklahoma. He began his career at the Cherokee Nation as a staff pediatrician prior to joining Variety Care. He has extensive leadership training across critical areas such as reducing trauma; crucial conversations; and DDI Leadership. Additionally, Dr. Graham completed the Medical Director Leadership Institute at Harvard University. He is a member of the Cherokee Nation and he and his wife Meredith have three children.
