Variety Care Expands Access to Rural Patients Through Hiring of New Provider

(October 10, 2020 - Oklahoma City, OK) Variety Care expands access to Oklahoma’s rural population through the hiring of a new family medicine provider. Dr. Alejandra De Santiago is accepting patients now at Variety Care’s Anadarko Health Center, located at 718 W. Petree Road, Anadarko, OK 73005.

De Santiago received her bachelor’s degree in allied health from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in 2013. She continued her education and received her doctorate in osteopathic medicine from Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic College in 2017. De Santiago is a highly decorated medical provider. She’s the recipient of several medical scholarships, including the PMTC Rural Medical Scholarship. She serves her community through an assortment of leadership roles, including her most recent role as recruiting co-chair for St. Anthony’s Family Medicine Residency Program.

“During my time at OSU, I was introduced to both rural and family medicine,” De Santiago said. “Practicing family medicine allows me to provide quality health care to a variety of rural community members from birth to the end of life.”

Variety Care has a long-standing commitment to providing care to patients at every stage of life. The Federally-Qualified Community Health Center has also developed an extensive expansion initiative aimed at providing Oklahomans in rural communities with access to convenient, affordable health care options. Variety Care expanded services to Anadarko in January 2020. The Anadarko Health Center offers medical care for men, women, children, and an exclusive program for migrant farmworkers.
