Lou has been the CEO of Variety Care since 2005. Since joining the organization in 2002, she has overseen tremendous growth in Variety Care's capacity, services and resources.

“Variety Care's mission of making quality health care affordable and accessible is a community effort. It takes all of us. The talent and commitment of our board, donors and a dedicated staff make possible for us to serve more than 50,000 Oklahomans annually.

“I am thankful and honored to work alongside a staff that has a ‘cause’ not just a job. With strong community partners and support we are expanding access to meet and ever growing demand for quality primary care. This effort is an exciting and rewarding experience for everyone engaged in the Variety Care story and your commitment to help is an investment in Oklahoma."

Mariano joined the Variety Care board in June 2009. He served as vice president of the board for one year before becoming board president in July 2011. He believes providing access to health care is an important step in improving the health of Oklahoma.

“Access to quality health care provides a solid foundation for any community, and it is essential for the future success of our state. After seeing the commitment of the staff at Variety Care, I was so impressed with the operations that I wanted to help them in their mission to better the community.”

As board president, Mariano is ex-officio of all committees, and he chairs the Executive Committee and Joint Opportunities Committee. His board term expires June 2012.

Donald began serving on the Variety Care board in September 2008 and currently serves as vice president of the board. He believes in the mission of Variety Care and chose to become involved because he enjoys helping the under and uninsured.

“I strongly believe that you don’t get involved with an organization without being fully committed to furthering its mission. I am dedicated to Variety Care and its mission to improve the state of health care in our community. It’s a calling and I enjoy doing it.”

As vice president of the board, Donald currently serves on the Executive Committee and chairs the Nominating, Business Development and FIP Oversight committees. His board term expires June 2014.

Vice President, CB Richard Ellis

Amy has been on the board since April 2006 and also currently serves on the Variety Care Foundation board. She previously served on the committee that merged the Variety Health Center and Oklahoma Community Health Services into what Variety Care is today. She says she looks forward to expanding Variety Care’s reach in the community and serving more patients in the future.

“Many people who are the backbone of the Oklahoma economy don’t have access to quality health care. It’s important we provide everyone in the state with affordable health care services to improve the well-being of each Oklahoman and the state as a whole.”

As board treasurer, Amy currently chairs the Finance Committee and serves on the Executive, Business Development and FIP Oversight committees. Her board term ends June 2014.

Connie joined the Variety Care board in October 2007 and currently serves as board secretary. She looks forward to the continued growth of Variety Care that will improve access to health care for people in Oklahoma City and rural areas.

“When I toured the facility, I had been the primary caregiver for my grandmother for years and understood the need for a community health center like Variety Care. I was extremely impressed and wanted to play a role in the organization. Variety Care is a viable option, not a last ditch option, for high-quality health care. We are setting the standard in our community and in the state.”

As board secretary, Connie currently serves on the Executive, Nominating, Business Development, Joint Opportunities and Quality committees. Her board term expires June 2013.

Felix has been a member of the Variety Care board for more than two years. He believes his responsibility as a board member is to ensure quality affordable health care is available to the Oklahoma City community.

“Health care is very important, and if you don’t have insurance you suffer. Variety Care gives Oklahomans a place to receive affordable care that is very top drawer. You can’t tour the facilities without seeing the high-quality care all our patients receive.”

Felix currently serves on the Business Development and Personnel committees. His board term expires June 2012.

Ryan has been a member of the Variety Care board since June 2009. As a board member and patient, he takes seriously his responsibility to represent the patients at Variety Care.

“When I was a graduate student in law school, I heard about the Variety Care dental services through a classmate. I received such excellent care as a student that I still go for visits as an attorney with private insurance. Variety Care has had unprecedented growth in the last few years, and I’m excited to be a part of reaching more people.”

Ryan currently serves as chair on the By-Laws Committee, and his board term expires June 2012.

Teah has served on the Variety Care board since May 2011. She is passionate about bringing health care solutions to the community and believes Variety Care is leading the way for better health care access.

“Variety Care’s all-inclusive approach to health care targets individuals at multiple income levels to provide them with quality care. We plan to continue to add more locations as we are able, and I am excited to be on the front end of this next level of growth.”

Teah currently serves on the Personnel Committee, and her board term expires June 2014.

Talesa joined the Variety Care board over seven years ago, and served as board chair for six of her seven years of service. Though she initially joined to help with board governance, she stayed involved because of her interest in the health of the community.

“We provide services throughout the state that are cost effective with long-term benefits to the community at large, including improved outcomes in overall health. When you invest in Variety Care with either your time or money, the return on investment for you, the community and the state is invaluable.”

Talesa currently serves on the Finance Committee, and her board term expires June 2013.

R.T. has been on the Variety Care board since October 2007, and he has been a patient of the Variety Care center in Tipton, Oklahoma since that time. He believes the center is essential to the rural community.

“In southwest Oklahoma we have to drive 25 miles one way to get to a hospital, and that can be especially difficult for the senior citizen population. Now people can visit the Variety Care center to get what I think is very high quality care. It’s nice to see people get behind these rural centers.”

R.T. currently serves on the Finance Committee, and his board term expires June 2014.

Ronald joined the Variety Care board in late 2004 and served as treasurer of the board for seven of his years of service. He says the biggest accomplishment he has taken part in as a board member is the expansion to rural communities, including Tipton, Oklahoma.

“We’ve made a commitment to make health care available to rural America, and we’re helping many who wouldn’t otherwise have primary health care. It has been a pleasure to be a part of such phenomenal growth.”

Ronald currently serves on the Finance Committee, and his board term expires June 2013.

Linda has been a Variety Care board member for more than two years and also currently serves as chairman of the board for the Variety Care Foundation. She believes all selfless endeavors are worthwhile, and she’s enjoyed committing herself to actively supporting the mission of Variety Care. As she continues to serve on the board, Linda looks forward to the opportunity to make a real difference in the health outcomes and people’s lives in Oklahoma.

“We have a big challenge in the state and we have to make a difference, family to family. I truly enjoy working with an organization where I can really and truly have an impact.”

Linda is a member of the FIP Oversight Committee and the Joint Opportunities Committee. Her board term expires June 2012.

John has served on the Variety Care board for nearly six years and also currently serves on the Variety Care Foundation board of directors. As a pediatrician, John has experienced the need for an organization like Variety Care first-hand. He says his professional experience increases his commitment to Variety Care’s goals and provides him with a testimony to explain how vital the health center is to the community.

“Being a physician at OU Children’s Hospital has allowed me to help the board further appreciate the medical responsibilities of Variety Care as a community health center, specifically in regard to serving children. Variety Care allows children throughout the state of Oklahoma to receive the care they need, which is something I am truly passionate about.”

John currently serves as chair of the Quality Committee. His board term ends June 2012.

Dustin joined the Variety Care board in March 2005. During his time on the board, he served as vice president three years, chaired the personnel committee two years and has visited Oklahoma's congressional delegation in Washington D.C. on behalf of Variety Care and the Community Health Center program.

“Variety Care’s health care model makes sense and we’re very driven to provide the populations we serve with access and quality, especially in rural communities. I believe if we continue to focus on providing access to quality health care, we’ll be successful. You can’t go wrong with a mission like that.”

Dustin currently chairs Personnel Committee and also serves on the By-laws Committee. His board term expires June 2013.
